Murphy's Lie (S6E6)

I skipped a review last week since it didn't really feel like a regular episode with the cameos and since it was entirely set on the golf course. Not much happened in the way of the plot. But the episode was still pretty entertaining overall.

That said, this week's episode was BRUTAL. I really thought it sucked. The only thing I liked about it is the fact that Ashley seems to be on the way out, which is great because her character is stupid and annoying. But even that may be ruined if they turn the focus back on Sloan, since the whole Sloan/E back-and-forth has also become stupid and annoying. I mean, didn't they already devote the majority of a previous season to E and Sloan? At any rate, this episode was about all the E/Ashley nonsense, Drama went off on one of his stupid obsessions where he can't focus on anything and behaves irrationally, but not in a funny way, and Turtle started school. Vince's life has apparently become nothing more than a string of random, meaningless hookups. They're still not making use of the comedy goldmine they're sitting on with Ari/Lloyd (maybe they're saving it all for the web content?), and instead continued the Andrew storyline with his wife going nuts.

More "Drama" this week

So there's been some setup now for Drama potentially getting fired, E in his new manager role, and Turtle at school. Here's hoping this episode was a fluke, since the rest of the season has been pretty good so far.

Running on E (S6E4)

This week's episode was finally a solid episode. It was firing on all cylinders and consequently reminded me of how good Entourage was back in Season 2. E was the only one confused about what he was doing, but he finally decided to close up his business and figure out what to do next. That's great because they never really went anywhere with that storyline. Vince is basking in the glory of a major hit and wants to travel, Drama was kissing models and trying to find an actress to be in a scene in his show, Turtle spent the episode with Jamie-Lynn getting clothes and ultimately letting Drama kiss her on his show, and the Ari/Andrew saga seemed to reach a conclusion as well, with plenty of frantic Ari. Aside from E's decision, there weren't any major twists, but the plot was still good.

Drama prepares for auditions

So now there's some new questions based on what happened...what's the fallout of what happened with Andrew for Ari and his wife, will Drama getting Jamie-Lynn help his career/show, what's E's next big move, and what's Ari's next challenge for Lloyd going to be?

One Car, Two Car, Red Car, Blue Car (S6E3)

This week's episode again seemed short, and they're still in setup mode. Hopefully all this setup is going somewhere, because so far things are off to a pretty slow start. This episode was interesting because of the variety of things going on...Ari mentoring both Turtle and E (formally, not his usual tough love approach), the sweet Ferraris on the racetrack, everyone gifting Turtle stuff, E trying to figure out the problem with Charlie (he sucked and E ultimately had to fire him), and E supposedly growing closer to Ashley. That really sums up everything that happened in the episode...there wasn't all that much to say about it. We didn't hear much more about Andrew (Ari's partner), Lloyd's progress (aside from him having to call everyone "Mister"), Ari's business, etc.

Vince's red carpet premiere

Still waiting to see where this season is going. Hopefully we're through all the setup and they're ready to advance the plot in significant ways!

Amongst Friends (S6E2)

This week's episode seemed really short, probably since the majority of it focused on the red carpet premiere of Vince's movie. It was kind of odd that for such a huge event (they had a ton of extras), they didn't show any other big celebrities there. At any rate, we got a continuation of the E and Sloan storyline, though the whole thing seems like a repeat of a plot they've used with the 2 of them before. E finally tells Sloan that he wants to be more than just friends, and that seemingly ends things between them for the time being, so E goes to see the younger girl he had hooked up with before because of all the pressure from everyone else hanging out with their girlfriends. In the meantime Sloan texts him but he deletes it. I thought he had a lot of options now that he's successful, so how come he only has Sloan or Ashley as options?

During all of that, Ari was trying to get his wife and Andrew's wife to hang out because he hates his wife's friends. During the course of that, he finds the wives get along great, and it's really Andrew that was blowing the meeting of the wives because he's cheating on his wife. Ari goes ballistic, telling Andrew that he gave him everything and he's going to blow it for some little girl that won't mean anything, but they are interrupted by the wives before any conclusion comes of that. I'd guess Andrew's cheating will continue and eventually Ari will have to get rid of Andrew even though he's finally becoming successful.

Vince's red carpet premiere

Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Turtle made waves by being seen on the red carpet together for the first time in public, and Drama and Vince brought some other girls to the premiere too.

An interesting episode, but it still avoided mentioning where the plot with Vince is going, and has setup for more relationship drama with E, which really isn't that interesting because it's started to get repetitive, especially with how they always play on his awkwardness. Hopefully we get more info on how Vince's movie did, what his next project is, what Turtle's working on, what new clients E has, more hilarity with Lloyd, etc.

Drive (S6E1)

This week's episode was much like the Season 5 premiere in that it was interesting and mostly setting up for this season. In Ari's world, Andrew actually closed a deal (versus his poor performance and panic attack last season) and Lloyd started nagging him for a promotion. Of course Ari just blew off Lloyd, but Lloyd was serious this time, and he threatened to quit. After getting crap from his family for treating Lloyd badly, Ari made a deal with Lloyd: if he can survive 100 days he can have his promotion. So we can only imagine how ridiculous Ari is going to behave with Lloyd this season.

In Vince and E's world, Vince needed a driver's license since his movie is about Ferrari Enzo, but he sucks at driving. He gets the license anyways by bribing the guy at the DMV, but then he goes and explains what happened on Leno. I wonder if that's going to come back to bite him. E got called by Sloan because there was an opportunity to sublet a place for a really good deal and she thought he wanted to move out. E started thinking he could get back with Sloan by asserting his independence and getting the place, which created an awkward situation with Vince. I liked when E referred to Turtle and Drama as the peanut gallery, because that's what they were doing for most of the episode whenever Sloan called.

The gang is back (and interested in E's phone)

Jamie-Lynn Sigler made a brief appearance with Turtle, and apparently they're still happily together. And it looks like E and Sloan are probably hooking up again. So that would leave Vince and Drama without relationships. But at the end they showed Drama's enjoying being busy working.

This season has a pretty good setup, so I'm waiting to see where they go with it.

Yep, Entourage is back with Season 6! The first episode aired last night, but I haven't gotten a chance to see it yet. This post is just a teaser for the review that I'll post tonight, and to prevent everyone from freaking out that I'm not doing Entourage reviews anymore :)

Vince wonders where the hell my review is for the Season 6 premiere
