This is hilarious. And kind of pathetic.

This week, Dave and I created a half-episode since our Episode 10 surprise guest could not make it (maybe they were stuck in traffic...internet traffic! Ok, that's a terrible pun and not true either). At any rate, we couldn't leave everybody hanging for a week, and we couldn't go ahead with episode 10 without a guest, so we made a half podcast, that really is about half the length of our usual podcasts. This week Dave and I discuss Tiger Woods, Episode 10 (no spoilers!), answer mailbag questions, and more.

This week, Dave and I wing it on the podcast since we're too good to phone it in or do a clip show/highlights podcast. As a result, we ended up going a little longer than usual, and the podcast is also more raw than usual. Enjoy!

If, like me, you missed one or more episodes from Stephen Colbert's week in Iraq, you'll love this. It's basically a highlight reel from last week, which had plenty of great moments.

dave submitted this story (and the title) regarding mangoes from India now being allowed to be imported into the US.
For almost 20 years, Indian mangoes (thought to be some of the best in the world) weren't allowed in this country because of FDA import standards. And there was a little problem with a pesky seed weevil.
But now I can walk into my local Indian grocery store and find boxes of mangoes from India next to the basmati rice. The store clerk at Namaste Plaza in Silicon Valley says that when summer rolls around, he starts getting phone calls from regular customers who will buy a few boxes and distribute them to relatives. At over $30 a box, that's a king's ransom for a taste of home. But I paid up.
There are said to be some 1,500 varieties of mangoes in India. Only a couple have been cleared for export to the U.S. One, the Alphonso, is known as the King of Mangoes in India.
As someone who has had mangoes in both places, this is very good news. There is really no comparison...the Indian mangoes are much sweeter and bigger than the Mexican mangoes that one typically finds even in Indian grocery stores in the U.S. It's too bad they can't import them cheaper...the other type of mango they describe in the article is awesome. It is soft enough to squeeze all the pulp off of the pit while it is intact, and then you make a hole on one end and literally drink a bunch of mango juice/pulp right out of the skin like a juicebox.
I haven't watched the episode yet, but if you watch the videos below you'll see why there's quite a bit of "buzz" about them today. Yep, enjoy my crappy pun.
This week's episode is fresh...no 7 days in the can this time around. You could say the whole thing is breaking news. This week Dave and I talk about doctors, Lucky Buys Confusion lyrics, poop, answer mailbag questions, and more.

I'm a week late on posting this, but better late than never! We recorded it last Wednesday, but with concerts, Memorial Day weekend, etc. I got sidetracked. Rest assured, it's still just as good!

Just finally getting around to posting this though the 5 people still watching the show probably noticed it wasn't on this past weekend. I can't say I'm surprised it's likely getting cancelled. In fact, I'd be surprised if it weren't...the show had so much potential with the cast involved (particularly the Arrested Development gang) and yet it managed to be solidly unfunny. With a new show I'll always give it a few episodes to find its bearings, finish setting up characters, etc. before I judge it. But 4 episodes in, SDSU hadn't really gone anywhere, and there were only a few funny moments in each episode, despite there being a punchline every 10 seconds.
Variety is careful to mention that there is a possibility the last episode didn't air because of the content, and not because the show is cancelled. But they call out the terrible ratings it's getting, so it looks like the writing is on the wall.
Fox, meanwhile, opted to yank the remaining episode of "Sit Down, Shut Up" after the show posted a dismal 0.7 rating/3 share among adults 18-49.
But it's believed the show may have also been pulled this Sunday due to some content concerns -- particularly since "Sit Down" airs at 7 p.m. Fox will run a repeat "King of the Hill" in that slot.
Given "Sit Down's" perf, the animated half-hour is not expected to return.
The funny thing about all this is I was really excited when I heard about this show and also NBC's Parks and Recreation because of the people involved. Both shows started around the same time, and I gave both shows around 4 episodes before deciding they weren't funny, and they weren't trending towards funny either. Unfortunate.
