You may recall that a week and a half ago, Nine Inch Nails released the Ghosts album for $5 via online purchase. It looks like they're looking to expand on that, saying they deliberately didn't include any visuals or information to accompany the music in order to allow users to create their own....

Yep, there's a new NIN album out...it's a 2-CD album, with 36 tracks. And it's yours for 5 bucks! I've already mentioned how Trent Reznor is no longer under contract and wants to get creative with music distribution, cutting out the labels, high prices, and DRM that prevents you from using music...

Amazon launched the public beta of Amazon MP3, which lets you buy MP3 versions (and high quality - 256kbps!) of your music so there's no restrictions on how/where you can use it.
And they're beating iTunes on price, with the top 100 songs at $0.89 and the top 100 albums at or below $8.99.

Apple has introduced a new, 1GB nano for $149, and cut the price of the 1GB shuffle to $99 (the 512MB shuffle is now $69). This is seen as a move to compete with CD players on the low end and also to extend the nano offering. iPods now range from $69 to $399, as shown below.
