I was surprised to see two familiar faces this episode, particularly because there was no need or reason for either of them to be in the episode, so I can only hope that means they'll have larger roles in future episodes! That's right, both Morris and Aaron appeared, and with Aaron they were particularly cheesy, introducing him by first on showing his badge, and then hearing him say "I'm Aaron Pierce" and then finally panning up to his face. He appeared to pick up the prez's daughter and take her to Henry in the hospital, and Morris appeared to drop Chloe off at the FBI and establish the fact that they have a kid. Chloe and Morris together are hilarious, so they've definitely got to bring him back.
Unlike some people, Larry knows how to take a confidential call
On to Jack and Renee searching for Dubaku before he flees the country...he's trying to get his girlfriend out with him, and gives her a horrible excuse about a revoked visa that she way too easily believes. Of course her sister finds out she's packing because she doesn't know how to close a door and is the world's loudest packer. Seriously, the only way she could have been louder would be to pack lit fireworks in an open trash can right next to her sister. But before she can leave Jack and Renee bust the door in and reveal that Smiley Samuel is really Dubaku. She was totally unconvincing on the phone to Dubaku, and then Jack got to tell Renee they had to use her as bait -- "we don't have another choice!" Classic. That never gets old. Jack and Renee couldn't have been more obvious when "hiding" in the hallway when the driver appeared unless they had pressed themselves to the glass. Then Jack and Renee got detained by local cops that Sean sent in. Also, the scene with Dubaku arranging his escape was absurd. He was mentioning the goons he spotted in the hotel like he was Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, and the other guy seemed so startled and surprised that Dubaku had insurance in the form of documents on all the illegal activities and was ready to have them sent to the Justice Department if he was killed. The guy's an international terrorist who has killed a ton of people and you're surprised he's got his own ass covered? Idiot.
This was a review of Season 7, Episode 9. Here's my previous 24 reviews. And here's the character countdown.
