CNN.com is stupid Dumbass
This has got to be some kind of April Fools joke gone wrong, since it's 20 days late and it's stupid. But CNN has started adding a T-shirt icon next to (only video?) headlines on their frontpage.

Clicking on the link takes you to a page where you can buy a shirt with the headline on it that also says "I just saw it on CNN.com" and lists the date and time. The service is in beta, and shirts are $15 plus $5 shipping. They let you get the headline on a gray, black, or white shirt, and the sale takes place through spreadshirt.com.

The obvious question is why?

that's ridiculous. who is buying a t-shirt with a headline on it? does CNN think they have superior headlines, headlines good enough that someone would want to wear a week (at least) after the fact? i almost want to buy one for you as a joke, but i don't want to encourage more stuff like this.

Yeah, maybe it'd be funny as a joke with some stupid headline, but most of the headlines I've seen them offering shirts for are idiotic. None of the headlines are remotely funny or even stupid puns.

They even have an FAQ setup for the shirts...one of the items encourages people to send in photos of themselves wearing the shirts in different settings.

Also it turns out the whole idea is stupid since you can put whatever text you want in the URL of the shirt page. Here's my awesome "CNN Sucks ass" shirt.
