This week in Entourage - Season 4, Episode 8 TV - Entourage
Gary's Desk (S4E8)

This week's episode was pretty great. And a large part of that was due to the fact that we had no T&D adventure. There were basically four storylines that were plenty of material on their own. The twists with the desk being purchased by Gary and not fitting the new office were pretty funny. Ari got to go completely crazy and that's always great. Seeing the Sklar brothers playing their characters was great too. But most importantly we got back to the overall plot with E starting to advance his career. But this is going to get dangerous. With talk of him getting an assistant, is there a chance Ari will eventually go away? I don't think that can happen for the sake of the show, but I don't know how they can stop it from going there eventually.

Gary Busey
Gary Busey proves he is, in fact, crazy

Things are definitely getting interesting now though. Either Eric's going to get successful through the Peter Jackson story (in which case can we finally be done with Walsh?!? Please!) or he's going to fail (to me this is more likely, as it allows Ari to stay in the picture, and Entourage loves conflict).

Sidenote: I love how they used "Damn it Feels Good To Be a Gangsta" when introducing E's "Office Space". From the description on the music credits page, it's apparent that was intentional.

This was a review of Episode 50. See more reviews here. And here's HBO's music credits for this episode.

Gary Busey will make any show better. The guy is simply crazy. I watched the episode he was in from Season 1 with the commentary and they said that he wouldn't deliver any of the scripted lines, that he made it all up himself. Jeremy Piven didn't mind because he has a background in improv, but Turtle (does he have a real name), was quite worried.

But about this episode. Yes, it was better than the previous one and back on the right track. Drama was a smurf, Eric was doing stuff, Ari was hilarious. I love seeing Ari at the office doing agency stuff. They need to get into that more. Forget his family.

Eric getting out on his own was good too, but he doesn't need an assistant. He just needs to act like his assistant a la Adam Davies from Season 1. Where is this money coming from anyway?

Seeing Shauna again was fun. "Where the fuck's my kid?" and "I'm sure he's not the first guy to puke on you Kristy." It's these sharp one-liners that made Entourage hilarious in the past, not Turtle and Drama escapades.

Yeah, good point about where the money's coming from. I was thinking about that too as they got the desk and then especially the new office. Is Medellin money just rolling in or what? I thought it hasn't even really been released yet, let alone screened at Cannes.

I loved how the mover had like 4 lines, and still managed to call Drama a smurf twice. Plus it was funny because he's in the Miller High Life commercials and I recognized him as that immediately (see below)

the youtube clip wasn't showing up for me the first time i loaded the page, so mark's comment really caught me off guard.

the website says 12.95. well worth it.

I agree with a lot of what Mark said.

I like E a lot, and it was funny to see him trying to take an ad out in Variety.

It's kind of sad that the writers feel like they need to have a ridiculous escapade--even though Vince tagged along, it was basically a Turtle/Drama adventure.

This one was definitely back on track, but it's basically filler until they get to Cannes, which will be the end of the season.

I was about to say how the season feels like it just started, so if that's the goal we're going to get a lot of filler, but then I checked and realized there's only 4 episodes left in the season. Probably because of how it piggybacked onto the end of 3b, this season feels like it was extremely short, and pretty non-eventful if that's the case. Enough with the 1-episode plots already.

Yeah, that's true. And other shows will finally be starting up their fall seasons, though that seems to happen later and later each year. I don't think I've seen any date floated around anywhere for Season 5 yet.
