This week in Entourage - Season 4, Episode 3 TV - Entourage
Malibooty (S4E3)

This week's episode was great in that it felt like things are back to normal. More on that in a second. But I found it funny how E has now fucked Harvey twice. I'm sure he wants to kill him. But, now he won't have Walsh wanting to kill him. Of course getting into Cannes doesn't necessarily mean the film will be well received, so there's still some room for drama there. It was funny how the trailer looked just as ridiculous as the actual movie. Everyone is blown away by it and half of it is just prosthetic chubby Vince getting money rained down on him in slow motion.

The website shown above from the trailer actually exists and is owned by HBO, though it currently just says "Coming Soon". Maybe they'll add some content to it soon?

So finally we get a real return to Agent Ari instead of sending him off on some bizarre subplot to develop his family (or whatever the point of that was last week). I'm happy to see more of Lloyd again...it makes it all the more apparent how absent he has been as well. Drama and Turtle are up to the usual, Vince is being irresponsible, and E seems more worried about everything going on again. Vince and E clash a bit but everything works out. This is the Entourage that the 2nd half of Season 3 had forgotten, so it's nice to get back to the familiar flow. Somehow while it's familiar it still doesn't feel predictable or less enjoyable.

It makes you wonder, if E manages to pull all this off, will they have anything to do with Ari now? It seems like he doesn't have much to offer then.

  • Agreed. . . for the most part

I agree that it felt more like Entourage and that Ari needs to be involved as an agent and Lloyd should be at his side. I also think that Medellin could suck balls at Cannes, which would be nice, seeing as how everything else always turns out great for Vince.

But I'm getting tired of Drama/Turtle storylines. It's just like with Ari, they need to be involved with the story, not have their own separate story.

That said, I like how the story has developed with Medellin. It's something that we haven't seen before in Entourage and definitely keeps me entertained.

The thing with Drama and Turtle is they've been doing the same thing for 4 seasons now. They never seem to play a pivotal role, but I think that's probably a good thing. I would cringe if Drama's ridiculous behavior were involved in driving an episode, and it'd be even worse with Turtle. They're filling their own niche.

Ari (and even Lloyd to an extent) have proven they can be funny or believable depending on the situation, and that they can handle having a larger part in what's going on (Ari can drive an entire episode/storyline). I'm not convinced that's true with Drama and/or Turtle. And as we saw with the school storyline, even Ari can disappoint.

All that said, I'm just glad Season 3B is over. There's finally a plot and the things people do have relevance again. Maybe it's a good thing they released Season 3A on DVD on its own. It'd be nice to pretend 3B never existed. It makes it that much better that 4 started right away...otherwise we'd have a bad taste in our mouths for months.

Yeah, but they're just combining the characters of Turtle and Drama and they keep sharing storylines with Drama being the loser and Turtle being the lotto winner. That said, their faces were priceless this past episode.

In the past, Turtle was Vince's gopher and Johnny was doing something else. Turtle said funny things and that was his role. Drama was the loser actor and that was his role. It worked. Now they're making everybody bigger than they should be.

Maybe that's the development of a TV show and I shouldn't complain because Entourage is on the air while Arrested Development and (not as good as AD) Studio 60 isn't.

Yeah, giving Johnny a successful show led to a weird arc because he was no longer complaining about and begging for a job all the time. Though we haven't heard much about the show now.

I can't tell what's going on with Turtle. He almost was a manager for a rapper, his girlfriend from a few weeks back mysteriously has disappeared, and now he's just tagging along with Drama everywhere. There's potential for comedy that's getting lost somewhere.

Another plot that got lost and has tons of potential is Ari's partner, Babs (well played by Beverly D'Angelo). I think I dreamed last night that she was screaming at Ari for something. I want to see more of Ari's involvement in the agency and less of Drama/Turtle.

Forget stupid new stories with those two, continue Turtle's manager or boyfriend role, continue with Drama as a successful actor.

I suspect we may get more of Ari's home life though, since the show added Ari's wife, Perrey Reeves to the opening credits. Somehow I didn't notice that until yesterday...I think I'm usually not paying attention during the opening sequence.

I just now got around to watching it...I liked this episode. And I agree that Turtle and Drama were better when they were supporting, not doing their own thing.
