This week in 24 - Season 6, Episode 22 TV - 24
This week's episode was awesome. I'm marking things that were surprising with (!). On the presidential side, Lisa got discovered, the Russian president knew the data was planted(!), and the VP gets until the end of the season (minus a few minutes) to resolve the issue.

On the Jack side, he kicked a bunch of ass, managed to get his nephew back, but let Cheng get away(!), and ultimately let Doyle make an extra-moley escape in a helicopter with Josh(!!!). I definitely didn't see that one coming. How sweet was the ambush that Jack and Nadia pulled? It was funny how they showed Jack killed a guy and Doyle killed the guy Nadia was fighting, but they never showed what happened to Morris's guy. Apparently Morris escaped unharmed though.

This whole taking Josh to China thing seems pretty stupid, so I can only guess they're trying to set something up for next season? Because in the context of this season it makes no sense (and there's no time for a Chinese excursion). At any rate, the teaser for next week's 2-hour Bauer-fest looks crazy. Tons of stuff exploding as Jack goes after his dad, and Chloe passed out somehow (they can't kill her, can they? They better not!).

And here's the character countdown.

Total spoilers in your post for next week!

I thought the episode was pretty good, but not all the way to awesome. I did like seeing Morris redeem himself...but when Doyle comes through 10 seconds later, the ambush seemed almost pointless.

The whole Jack's dad/China plot is pretty weak. Also, Doyle taking the boy isn't really mole-y because he's following Presidential orders.

I have to admit, I actually missed 5 minutes of the show because of a phone call (and I didn't bother rewinding to see what I missed). So I didn't know Doyle was acting under orders and I thought he was screwing Jack over :)

And yes, I didn't mark next week's teaser with double spoilers. But it looks crazy.

The presidential orders were implied only, the VP and Tom agreed that they needed to give the boy up to his grandfather in order to get back the component, then it cuts to Jack getting distracted by a fake phone call, and CTU taking the boy away in a helicopter. That's why everyone was holding Jack down.
