Bananas!
dave submitted two bathroom innovation related stories. First, a company called
Atech Flash has created an iPod-docking toilet paper dispenser.
Sporting both a USB slot for the iPod Shuffle and a dock for iPod models with dock connectors, the speakers are housed within the arms that support the toilet paper holder. Navigation buttons allow you to control your player with ease, freeing your other hand for [insert favorite bathroom reading material]. Don't forget to order your complementary RIAA toilet tissue here.
Second, a
flushless urinal design has won awards for becoming a potential water saver.
How does it work? The flushless urinal contains a liquid consisting of alcohol and mineral oils, which are lighter than the urine which flows through the liquid and down the drain. There’s a special cartridge that replaces the conventional drain that makes this possible. It wouldn’t be much fun to be the poor soul who has to change those cartridges, though.
The iPod thing sounds pretty absurd. Next they're going to sell me an iPod-docking hot dog or something. And for the second story, the comments in the article about how it doesn't eliminate odors are not encouraging.
