According to
this article, a new 3D display called Heliodisplay just started production. The Heliodisplay from company IO2Technology projects into the air (without a need for special screen) images fed to it from a variety of sources, using lasers. It is believed to project onto some kind of fog or dense cloud of water droplets/mist that the unit creates. The display is also interactive, so you can move the object around. This has very cool potential for both computing, and also TV. Imagine watching any sport in 3D on one of these. Read more for a few pictures of it in action.
